      Work great for...
      by Derek T. on 07/10/14
Pros: When I ordered this is was not for a ninja 250. It was actually for a Ninja 1000 (sx). Wanted GP/reverse style shipping on the N1000. Just prefer this style/orientation of shift. I took a chance on this extension from Sato as it is not advertised in anyway for the Ninja 1000(sx) but it "fit the bill" and it actually worked with some slight adjustments. For the mode to work on a Ninja 1000(sx) I needed to discard the black spacer and the bolt provided (to long). All that was needed was the actual shift extension, the reverse threaded rode end, and a SS button cap screw that was 6mm -1.0 pitch by 16mm long.

Being a Sato part it's machining and finish were excellent. Solo moto as well was great on price, and updated shipping info.
      2013 Ninja 1000

Pros: Thanks to the other reviewer here, Derek, for mentioning that these will for a Ninja 1000.

I did exactly that on my 2013 Ninja 1000. You will need an M6 1.0 x 16mm screw/bolt. I used a screw because my local Home Depot did not have any of the hex bolts in store. Also as Derek mentioned, you will not need any of the provided spacers. In the end I barely (and I mean barely) had any clearance, but I had enough, about 1 or 2 millimeters.

Side note: If you were like me and had trouble tightening the whole thing down/it coming loose/sliding off, it may because you had the bolt going from the front to back; try it the other way around.

Also thanks to Mike at SoloMoto for exceptional customer service!
