    Product Information

Scotts Steering Stabilizer SUB Mount Kit for BMW F800GS 08-13

The F800GS damper kit is very compact and includes everything you need to make the installation easy. The kit includes the steering stabilizer and heat treated linkarm, a new one piece billet SUB mount handlebar perch assembly, two adapter spacers, 10mm bolts, stainless steel billet frame bracket with adjustable tower pin and a special Torx bit to remove some of the bolts. Also included are the step by step pictured instructions and Owner's Manual. This kit makes a serious difference in the handling characteristics of this model. The F800GS damper kit raises the bars approximately 20mm and forward about 3mm.

"SUB" mount stands for Stabilizer Under Bars, an idea we've been using for years that was originally designed for raising the bars. This concept allows more room for other equipment such as, Global Positioning Systems (GPS) or Enduro/Rally computers and yet still retain the quick access for adjusting the stabilizer. This is also good for the taller rider who wants his bars a little higher, as it raises the bar location about 20-25mm.

Each Scotts Stabilizer SUB Mount Kit comes complete with all necessary parts, hardware and step-by-step pictured instructions.

    Solo Moto Says:
We have this kit on our F800GS and it works great. We love the slight increase in bar height (which most won't even notice) because it makes road riding a little more comfortable and still works great off-road while standing up.

One thing to consider about the Scotts damper kit for the F800GS will be whether you will actually be riding off-road or not. We simplified your options by labeling them as either On Road Only or a combination On/Off Road. We did this after speaking with Scotts Performance at length about what that actually means with regard to how the stabilizer operates. With their advice and consideration we reached the conclusion that if you will be doing any of your riding off-road you will want to opt for the On/Off Road option. That way, the rebound dampening of the On Road version will not inhibit the bikes handling off-road. We ride with aggesive lean angles on-road and explore a wide variety of terrain off-road.

The On/Off Road damper setup for the Scotts damper F800GS has allowed us improved performance and handling across the board. We would highly recommend this kit to someone looking to stabilize the front end of this bike.

      It works Perfect!
      by Takanori S. on 11/07/12
Pros: at F800GS,the ignition key is fastened by the special bolt,
but using the petal type bit (kit included) ,removal can be done simply.

Time required for all the attachment is about 2 hour. (case of me)
A position of a handle is little up and it feels comfortable :)
I don't need to extend brake hose, Accel Wires, Clutch Wires.

Your Most difficult work is...trimming the key cover.
but anyone will can do it simply in 30 minutes.

      Thanks Tyler
Cons: adjusting knob hits handles. but they were unnecessary worries.
plastic knob (photograph:black needles) rings can remove and
adjustment is possible for a favorite position.
