Suspension is such an important part of the motorcycle that many fast riders buy a suspension upgrade before anything else. It will improve your riding experience and let you ride faster and smoother while being more controlled.

    * The culmination of three decades of world championship roadracing and more than 100 World titles.
    * Features high- and low-speed compression and rebound damping; all settings are independent.
    * This allows a huge range of adjustments with equal increments of force throughout the adjustment settings range - even the shape of the damping curve can be changed to suit all types of tracks and conditions.
    * All preload and rebound adjustment changes affect the flow of damping oil from the piston, not the shock piston rod or oil displacement volume.
    * Compression damping forces are unique - unlike a conventional shock, compression is not caused by a drop in pressure on the rebound side of the piston; instead, it is caused by an increase in pressure on the compression side.
    * This reduces cavitation and makes high gas pressure in the shock reservoir unnecessary, keeping internal pressures in the shock unit a minimum.
    * The low amount of internal pressure results in excellent suspension response even with a short stoke/high force acting on the shock.
    * Piggyback-type shock reservoir gives improved cooling to the shock oil for more consistent damping and long damper life.

      Pros: Loved the quality of manufacturing shock Absorber! My shock Absorber has been set under my weight, which is very important!
      Install it on the bike much easier to remove than old shock Absorber!After installing Ohlins on my motorcycle Tiger has changed, become better work suspension on bad roads and improved handling!Ohlins - this is the best it can be for a motorcycle! I am very happy with your purchase!

      Ohlins does not disappoint

      Pros: The FZ8, for 2012 and prior years, comes with suspension that is just adequate for freeway or commuting for the average rider. Experienced and aggressive riders will find the shock and forks very flaccid and will not be able to get anything like real performance from the bike. The Ohlins cures about 80 percent of that; it completely cleans up the rear end and by doing so, improves the front quite a bit. Mine came set up perfectly from the factory, with a little less rebound needed than suggested, leaving a lot of room to crank in the damping for that track day. The workmanship is outstanding. It's a beautiful piece, and while it lacks compression damping adjustments, it's so well-sorted that rebound is all anyone is going to need to suit the purposes of the FZ8. You can spend more money on a shock if you'd like, but won't get much more real-world functionality. In fact, too many adjustments can just complicate things. It's all the shock this bike needs.
      Cons: For the price and application, no downside at all.
      Ohlins S46DR1 Shock Absorber for NC700X

      Pros: The original rear shock on the NC700X could not be adjusted and was inadequate to handle my weight (94 kg). I have since installed the Ohlins shock and enjoying every ride now. The bike is no longer oscillating like before, that seriously made me felt nausea.
      Cons: None known yet.
