    Kawasaki Custom Racing Chain & Sprocket Kit

    Buster's Custom Racing Chain and Sprocket Kits come with high-quality steel countershaft (front) sprockets with your choice of chain and hard anodized aluminum alloy rear sprocket. We offer as many brands and color options as possible while remaining realistic about what will fit your bike and be safe for your engine size. See below for descriptions of each item available with the kit.

    Stock sprocket sizes
    are listed by bike in the drop down menu above. For example: "CRF 250R 04-07 13/53" means that for the year range 2004-2007, the CRF250R comes stock with a 13-tooth front sprocket and a 53-tooth rear sprocket. If you want to order different sizes than stock, just fill in the Custom Gearing field above and let us know what sizes you'd like.

    Non O-Ring chains should only be used by motocross or track riders that need to save every bit of weight and drag that they can. There is a slight reduction in drag with a Non O-Ring chain since it does not have the internal lubrication properties of an O-Ring or X-Ring chain. These differences are so minor that the average rider won't even notice. This will be even less noticeable with a 450cc. If you're a maintenance freak, you should be okay with a Non O-Ring chain, but just imagine how long an O-Ring or X-Ring would last you!

    O-Ring and X-Ring
    chains were developed to maintain lubrication and extend the life of the chain. They are best suited for someone who will be desert riding or looking to do less maintenance on their bike. Chains stretch when they get hot. Knowing this, manufacturers have designed O-Ring and X-Ring chains with lubricant sealed into the chain. This results in cooler chain temperature which allows for longer ride times and virtually no stretching. Less stretching means less wear which means more life for your chain and drive line with less adjustment. They cost a little more, but they're well worth it!

    Renthal Sprockets (or "Chainwheels")

    AFAM Sprockets
    AFAM only makes motorcycle sprockets and have earned a worldwide reputation for making sprockets to the highest standards from the best materials. The teeth and the outside diameter of an AFAM sprocket are cut at the same time. This ensures the teeth are concentric to the sprocket center. Most OEM's demand a maximum run-out of .5mm. All AFAM sprockets have a maximum run-out of only 2mm, more than twice the industry standard. Aluminum rear sprockets are made from heat treated 7075-T6 aluminum. After precision machining and flattening, they are anodized for durability and corrosion resistance.
