    Learn more about Competition Werkes

    Competition Werkes, Oregon, USA
Competition Werkes is one of the original manufacturers of sportbike fender eliminator kits since 1984. Fender eliminator kits clean up the tail end of a motorcycle (usually where the license plate is) and has become one of the most popular sportbike upgrades for some time now. Although very well known for their fender kits, Competition Werkes has recently developed a line of integrated turn signal kits for sportbikes to compliment their fender eliminator offerings as well as an assortment of Moto GP inspired GP Exhausts. Their products are proudly made in the USA.

      Pros: Easy install. Looks good
      Cons: nada
      So far so good
      Michael D. on 09/30/2007
Pros: Great fit and easy to install, one bolt for the plate holder and two for the top cover plate. 60 minute install. Solo has the best price, I paid to much at a local shop...
Cons: Only one, 60 minute install. The rubber wire covering isn't long enough and there is no hold down bracket for the wiring at the light base. However, zip ties work okay...
      Not all that my friend...
      Kevin K. on 02/07/2008
      Pros: Lightweight, Bright LED, Paintable
Cons: The cons outweigh the pros on this product, at least for the 2007 GSX-R600 kit. I'm curious why the LED wiring comes terminated with bullet connectors by default and with butt connectors to connect to the wiring on the bike. The two do not fit each other. Very obvious mistake. They had to be trimmed off the LED right out of the box. Why on earth is what I wold ask CWerkes. Also, the butt connectors they ship with are not quality PVC. I recommend buying new connectors from that are more pliable. Your bike will thank you. The wire gauge on the LED is AWG 22, which is super small and prevents one from using a different wire connector like a splice clip of something nicer. The stock wiring on Suzuki tail light is AWG18 and is copper. It would be nice if the LED was also copper since mixing metals is not recommended without applying a topical solution to prevent corrosion. Sounds a bit anal, but hey, chances are your motorcycle wasn't cheap, so why jeopardize the wiring system when it can be avoided.

Also, I painted the kit black. I also painted the heads of the bolts black. Silver just looked terrible once mounted so I took it off and cleaned it up. I also painted the LED. I also painted the rear of the license plate since the kit has large circle holes on the back. For more details see pics here:

Suggestions for CW: 1) Ship the right connectors 2) change the wiring to copper 3) offer powder coat black version.
