Competition Werkes Fender Eliminator Kit for CBR1000RR 08-12

Competition Werkes Fender Eliminator kits completely and comprehensively enhances the overall personality of any motorcycle. The race inspired look your bike was meant to have will emerge after installation.

A clear race look essentially brings out the authentic character of a high-end superbike. A motorcycle like this ought to have an aggressive persona and stance and we feel that's what aftermarket modifications bring to the game. There's always something to be done to make this or that a little better and more personalized. The Competition Werkes Fender Eliminator kit provides exactly that in a simple and affordable package. Moreover, with the removal of the ugly stock fender, the tail looks cleaner and drastically more appealing.

This Fender Eliminator kit includes turn signal lights, where applicable, and a high quality stainless steel license plate. The kit has been specifically designed to install quickly and conveniently. With the detailed instructions included for installation, there shouldn't be any problems mounting the kit.

The turn signal lights provided, for certain models, in Competition Werkes Fender Eliminator kits are housed within tough covers and are built to last.

    Learn more about Competition Werkes

    Competition Werkes, Oregon, USA
Competition Werkes started in back 1984 by Ward McKee to support his dirt track racing habit. His idea of eliminating the rear fender to enhance the looks of his sport bike became an instant hit. By 1986, Competition Werkes Fender Eliminator Kit was being distributed to dealers all across United States.  The rapid growth caused the need to make changes. So in 2000, Ward brought all the manufacturing of his stainless steel products in-house which enabled him to ensure quality, fine tuned design and inventory control.

With the equipment and personnel to advance in products, Competition Werkes began expanding. In 2003, they brought the innovative Limited kits and their pivot mounts. In 2006, they brought a true race inspired exhaust line called WerkesUSA. With products being distributed worldwide by a host of companies, Competition Werkes is the most recognized name in the Fender Eliminator market in which it started.

      John R. on 03/13/2006
Pros: Looks pretty in the picture.
Cons: Abysmal instructions (No reference points for measurements, badly worded with key points missing for the installation, poor quality pictures that do not fill in the gaps of the written instructions).
Tech support only open Monday thru Friday 9-5 PST.
Condesending people on the phone when you call tech support.
To be told this is the hardest to install Fender Eliminator they have and they get the most calls on it is understandable given the quality of the included instructions. To be told they are too busy making parts for the new bikes to redo the instructions shows a high degree of greed and lack of caring for those that purchase their products
My recomendation to Competition Werkes when the owner offered to refund me dealer cost was to make it right for everyone not just me. Dictate the install process to a technical writer. Get a digital camera and take lots of pictures. Have someone who has not installed the fender eliminator do the install and refine the instructions based on the problems discovered. Then post the instructions on the web or make them available for download.

      Finally no bulky stock fender
      Adam G. on 08/10/2010
Pros: *All the nuts, bolts and brackets come with it.
      *Easy Install

I've never done any electrical work on my bike before, so I was a little apprehensive before starting this, but I was able to get it done in an afternoon without too much of a hassle. Word to the wise though: Don't be like me, and look up which wires are positive and negative -before- you have everything unhooked. Also, the kit comes with one set of short stalk tail lights (pictured), so if you want a matching front set, you're going to have to order them separately.
Cons: *Instructions can be a little vague, but manageable.
      Expected more for the money
      by Peter D. on 03/13/13
Pros: The design, crude as it is, does work for my application, 2003 Daytona 955i. The license plate is far less obtrusive than the original. The fact that the pieces can be painted is a positive thing.
Cons: I suffered from a bit of "buyer remorse" after it was finally installed. It looks almost as crude as if I had whipped together something myself. Here's a short list that repeats most of what others have said:

      1) Horrible instructions! Neither the text nor the photos are helpful. I had to use my imagination.
      2) Lighting solution seems cheap - both the directional lights and wire supplied in the kit are not optimal.
      3) Plastic rivets? They barely worked for the couple of pieces they were intended for. I might have to replace those with screws before too long.
      4) Taillight mounting is questionable (though this may well be due to my Sharkskinz tail fairing).
      5) Really needs to be painted to look right. Wish it had come with a coat of black paint.
      6) Just not worth the price I got it for even with the discount!
